Through the day: laundry, dishes, a clean bathroom, a changed bed, floors kept clear. Light housekeeping, done consistently.
Meals cooked to taste and to any restrictions a doctor has set. Groceries collected, prescriptions picked up, appointments driven to.
Medication reminders on schedule. Caregivers remind, never administer, and tell you when the reminders stop working.
And company. In a house where someone spends most of the day alone, that changes eating and sleeping before it changes anything else.
Hourly visits, full days, overnight and live-in. Awake overnight means the caregiver stays up and is available through the night. Sleeping overnight means the caregiver rests in the home and gets up when needed. Live-in means continuous presence with a sleep period and a relief rotation.
