What home care costs in Ridgeland, and how families pay for it

Every other page you will find on this search sends you to a form before it tells you anything. Here is what we can tell you before you call.

How the number is built. In-home care is bought by the hour, so there is no single monthly price. Our rates are quoted per plan, and three things move the figure: how many hours a week you need, whether the shifts are daytime or overnight, and how much hands-on assistance is involved. You get a real number at the in-home assessment, before you commit to anything.

How families pay:

  • Private pay. Most common. Billed on the hours delivered.
  • Medicaid. We accept Medicaid clients. Contact us to discuss eligibility.
  • Long-term care insurance. Widely used. We provide the visit records, timesheets, invoices and care plan documentation the insurer requires.
  • VA Aid and Attendance. Veterans and surviving spouses who need help with daily activities may qualify. We support the application paperwork.

What our caregivers do in Ridgeland homes

Mornings are usually where care starts. Help with washing and dressing, then breakfast made and eaten with someone sitting there, which is the difference between a meal cooked and a meal had.

Through the day, the upkeep that keeps a house livable. Laundry, dishes, a clean bathroom, a changed bed, floors kept clear. Light housekeeping, done every visit rather than in an occasional push.

Meals cooked to taste and to whatever the doctor has restricted. Groceries collected, prescriptions picked up, appointments driven to and waited through.

Medication reminders on schedule. Caregivers remind, they never administer, and they tell you when the reminders are not landing.

And company. Somebody in the room. Most families call about safety and stay because of this.

Care around the clock, seven days a week

Hourly visits, full days, overnight and live-in. Awake overnight means the caregiver stays up and is available for bathroom trips, wandering and after-midnight confusion. Sleeping overnight means the caregiver rests in the home and gets up when needed.

Live-in means continuous presence with a built-in sleep period and a scheduled relief rotation.

How to start care

  • Call (601) 900-7218. A short conversation about what is going on and whether non-medical care fits.
  • In-home assessment. Free, at the house, with the family present. This is where you get a real rate.
  • First visit. Our median from first call to first visit is one day.

Questions families ask

What does non-medical care cover, and what does it not?
Personal assistance, light housekeeping, meals, errands, transport and companionship. Not skilled nursing, wound care, injections, therapy or administering medication. Reminders only.
Is there a minimum number of hours?
Yes. We require a minimum of 4 hours per visit.
How does long-term care insurance reimbursement actually work?
In most cases you pay us and the insurer reimburses you, though some policies pay the agency directly. Either way, benefits usually begin only after an elimination period, and the insurer needs documentation: the care plan, an assessment of which daily activities need help, and dated visit records with hours. We produce all of that as part of normal service.
What is the difference between in-home care and an adult day centre?
An adult day centre is somewhere your family member goes during the day, with staff, meals and other people around. In-home care comes to them, one-to-one, and works better for someone who is hard to move, who does poorly in unfamiliar settings, or who needs help with the parts of the day that happen at home. Some families use both.
